Remote platform for the Willem C. Vis Moot

The International Arbitration Centre (IDRC) is delighted to have been chosen to provide the platform for the “virtual” hearings for the 28th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, which, for the second year, is to be conducted remotely in light of the COVID pandemic.

Nearly 400 teams from all over the world are registered, and the teams will meet for the virtual oral hearings from 27 March to 1 April 2021.

IDRC (www.idrc.co.uk) , with its headquarter in London, is one of the leading international hearing room providers, having extensive experience with the organisation and support of remote hearings. The technology to be used for the hearings will be Zoom-based, a platform with which it is anticipated that most participants in the Moot will be familiar.

Two weeks before the beginning of the oral hearings, IDRC and the Moot organisers will be collaborating to offer training sessions for teams and arbitrators to get accustomed, in advance, to the features and the specific set up of the virtual Vis Moot hearing room, and the organisers will be providing a manual and specific virtual hearing rules.

IDRC looks forward to being of service to all those participating in this world-renowned event.
