Adrian Winstanley is an English solicitor with 25 years’ experience in international commercial arbitration and mediation, acquired in his roles as Registrar and Director General of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and in his earlier role as a member of the Clifford Chance arbitration team; now practising as independent arbitrator, mediator(CEDR-accredited), and ADR consultant.

Adrian is a member of the Panels of Arbitrators of AAA-ICDR; SIAC and the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB); and of the Council of the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration (MCIA). He is a consultant-adviser to BCDR-AAA, Bahrain, to Emissary Holdings (Corporate Diplomacy), and to Dispute Resolution Data LLC (DRD).

Adrian has been a member of the IDRC Board since its foundation in 1999, and was a member of the LCIA Court for 11 years (until 2019) and of its Board for 15 years.
He has formerly served as Secretary-Treasurer and a Vice President of the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI).

Adrian was awarded the OBE in June 2013 for services to international arbitration.
