The date of the inquest into the death of Ian Tomlinson has been confirmed as 28 March 2011.

The inquest into the death of Ian Tomlinson, who collapsed and died in the City of London on 1 April 2009 at the time of the G20 summit protests, will commence on Monday 28 March 2011.

The inquest will be conducted by His Honour Judge Peter Thornton QC and will take place at the International Dispute Resolution Centre at 70 Fleet Street, London, Ec4Y 1EU.

His Honour Judge Peter Thornton QC, a Senior Circuit Judge at the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey), was appointed Assistant Deputy Coroner on 9 November 2010 for the purpose of conducting the inquest by the City of London Coroner, Mr Paul Matthews, after consultation with the Lord Chief Justice and Ministry of Justice Ministers.
